Shoebox Action finished successfully

Hungarian Baptist Aid (HBAid) successfully finished its Shoebox Action with forty thousand one hundred boxes full of gifts which arrived to collection points. The quantity of shoebox donations increased by 25% this year compared with last year. The total value of the gifts was 120 million HUF, and in addition, 10 million HUF was given through the donation line of 1355 (which can be called within Hungary to send a 300 HUF donation per call).
On the 10th anniversary of Shoebox Action in Hungary, there were several schools, companies, communities of friends and private citizens who joined the work of HBAid. In this way several domestic large families, disadvantaged communities or children of orphanages received Christmas gifts in December 2013.
Thanks to the donors, HBAid could help forty-five thousand deprived people with aid worth 150 million HUF.
Balatonföldvár-Roma Bible School
Balatonföldvár-Hungarian Baptist Aid organized a training for Roma pastors from September 24th-29th. The program will continue in January in the city by the lake.
’Anne Frank – History for Today’ exhibition opened
On the afternoon of September 10th, ’Anne Frank – History for Today’ travelling exhibition opened on the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust at Vendéglátó, Idegenforgalmi és Kereskedelmi Baptista Középiskola és Szakiskola (in English: Baptist Secondary School and Vocational School of Catering, Tourism and Trade).
